This stuff is GOOOOOD!!! I love making this at night when it is a little chilly outside. You used to get this only from a street vendor in Korea but now you can make it at home with this pre measured mix you can get at the market.
Package and the contents look like this:
You will need to make the dough and leave it for about an hour or so until it rises to make this.
1. Warm up about one (1) cup of water. Make sure your water is not too hot because yeast will die and your dough won’t rise if the water is too hot. Add the yeast (the one in the small red package), stir it a little then add the dough mixture (big one in the orange package).
Mix everything until it forms a ball, cover it with plastic, then leave it aside for at least an hour.
When your dough has risen, you make little balls slightly larger than golf balls. Take some of the dough, flatten it out in your hand fill it with the sugar mixture form a ball and drop it in a hot greased pan. If you grease your hands while making the balls, it makes it a little easier to form them.
If you were my husband, instead of the sugar mixuture that comes with the package, you will want to add different things to create different flavors. If you are in the mood for something savory, you can add cheese, if you are like my little one, you can add some bananas. Go ahead and experiment for yourself.
Once you have them on the pan for about 2-3 minutes on medium heat when it turns golden brown, flip them over and flatten it down to make it more of a pancake shape. When you flatten it down, keep the weight on for a little while (5-10 seconds) so it stays flat. Once both sides are brown, they are ready to be enjoyed. Be careful though, filling is super super hot….
